The Power of Sports Launches Boxing and Self-Defense Program| Indonesia

We’re pleased to share that we’ve launched a new sports activity in Indonesia: boxing and self-defense lessons for children and young people. These sessions are aimed at youth who do not have regular access to structured sports education.

To support this activity, we purchased boxing gloves and other basic training materials locally in Indonesia. This was made entirely possible thanks to a generous donation from our Dutch partners, through The Power of Sports (De Kracht van Sport).

The initiative was set up by Oscar Hauser, a Dutch intern who will be working with our team at Daya Krida Indonesia for the next 20 weeks. During his internship, Oscar will:

  • Offer weekly boxing and self-defense lessons to children and youngsters.

  • Work with the local team to set up a sustainable training structure

  • Help ensure the program continues after his internship ends

  • Use sport to strengthen young people’s confidence and resilience

We believe this program is a valuable addition to our work in the community. With a small investment in equipment and commitment from local partners, we can offer meaningful activities that make a difference.

We’ll keep you updated as the program develops!
